ANGKOR WAT
Built in 1150 as a Hindu temple, Angkor Wat or temple city, was the center of the Khmer Kingdom.
It later became a Buddhist temple and is now a Unesco World Heritage Site. Sandstone blocks are arranged in three galleries inside a moat. Extensive reliefs are carved into the walls. Many other temples are part of Angkor Archeological Park and are worth a visit.
Consider breakfast at sunrise at the temple or try Khmer Kitchen restaurant in Siem Reap.
