CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS
Located in Austin, Texas the Circuit of the Americas opened in 2012.
Miró Rivera Architects designed the outdoor amphitheater, observation tower, grandstands, and concessions for this 3.4 mile long racetrack that hosts Formula 1 and other events. The amphitheater seats 14,000 with a canopy of red steel tubes over the stage. An observation tower with a double helix stair and high speed elevator rises above. The design evokes the speed and precision of sports car racing and makes good use of the topography of the site.
