CRYSTAL BRIDGES

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville Arkansas was founded by Alice Walton, the daughter of the founder of Walmart. The project was designed by Moshe Safdie with 6 pavilions around ponds and it opened in 2011.

Some pavilions are designed as bridges spanning the water. Glu-laminated roof beams are supported by steel cables. On the grounds around the museum there is a sculpture collection along with a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright that was moved here from New Jersey.

Try lunch or a snack at the restaurant called Eleven. Enjoy the extensive collection of American art from all eras.
