FOUR FREEDOMS PARK
The Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park was designed in 1973 by Louis Kahn but not completed until 2012.
The memorial celebrates the four freedoms that Roosevelt pronounced in his State of the Union address: freedom of speech and expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear.
The monumental stair leads to a triangular garden and an open space called The Room with a bust of Roosevelt, the Four Freedoms inscription and a view of the East River beyond.
The dining options nearby are limited, so try the cafe on the nearby Cornell Tech campus in the building designed by Morphosis. Enjoy your visit.
