JOAN Miró STUDIO
The architect Josep Lluis Sert designed the studio for the artist Joan Miró in 1956.
Miró had settled in Mallorca and asked his lifelong friend to design his studio. A vaulted roof and clerestory windows provide lots of natural light. A two level space was provided for Miró to work on large canvases and for completed work to sit nearby. Concrete is contrasted with traditional materials. White walls are offset with bright colors that the artist used in his work. Display is provided for objects that Miró collected that inspired his work.
