Oakland Museum

The Oakland Museum of California opened in 1969 as designed by Roche Dinkeloo Associates. The museum covers art, history and the natural sciences. California history and art is featured.

Beginning in 2010, Mark Cavagnero Associates and Hood Design began renovations to connect the museum to the neighborhood with a new entrance and to Lake Merritt. Exhibit levels are connected by the exterior stair. The original rooftop gardens were replenished.

The trip to Horn Barbeque in Oakland is worth the drive and worth the wait.
