PEROT MUSEUM OF NATURE AND SCIENCE
The Perot Museum of Science and Nature was completed in 2012 and designed by Morphosis to promote science literacy in Dallas.
A concrete cube of galleries rises above a horizontal landscape element with classrooms, theater and support spaces. The glass enclosed escalator breaks the geometry of the cube to bring visitors to the first exhibits at the top level. Visitors move down the levels through the museum.
The building itself is designed to be part of the story with exposed systems and Texas ecology on display. The cube’s precast enclosure evokes geologic striations.
In addition to the museum cafe, there are restaurants nearby in Victory Park or head to Klyde Warren Park for a wide variety of food trucks. Be sure to check out this dynamic museum in Dallas.
