MASS MOCA

Mass MOCA is a contemporary art museum on a former 1870’s printing factory site in North Adams, Massachusetts.

The museum was designed by Bruner Cott & Associates with the first phase completed in 1999. On display are works by Ledelle Moe, Sol Le Witt, James Turrell, Jenny Holzer, Sarah Oppenheimer and Michael Oatman. There are 26 buildings on 16 acres along side the Hoosic River.

The architects left the simple industrial buildings mostly alone enhancing their simple details and forms so the art stands out.

After your visit head nearby to the A-OK Berkshire BBQ for a brisket or smoked chicken sandwich. Enjoy your visit to Western Massachusetts.
