San TELMO MUSEUM

Located in San Sebastian Spain, the San Telmo Museum exhibits Basque culture, art and history.

Opening in 2011, it was designed by Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos. The museum restores a former Dominican monastery and includes a narrow addition along Mount Urgull. The facade is composed of perforated aluminum panels mimicking the holes in the adjacent rock. Modern interventions like a wood clad stair enliven the restored interior.

A restaurant is located on the ground floor or try the restaurant Gure nearby for a Basque meal. Be sure to visit the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastian.
